About

Offering texts on Magick, Art, and Alchemy since 2007

Black Lodge Publishing is a collaboration between Dr. Robert Anderson Plimer and Elaine Pattison, who have over 70 years of combined research into magick, art, and alchemy.

Beginning with the publication of Decoding Alchemy in 2007, the occult and magical communities showed an appetite for our books and our catalogue has now grown to include other authors such as Sian Sibley.

We craft our books with dedication to the Arte and hope you enjoy every work. You can meet us around the British Isles at events such as the Occult Conferences in Wales and Glastonbury, or join us at the Isle of Wight Conference which we run at the Spring Equinox each year.

Authors

  • Elaine Pattison

    AUTHOR & ARTIST

From a young age and after leaving school, Elaine worked in the London Stock Exchange, then as a printer and finally she worked for the NHS in the Pathology Dept., however, she is now perhaps best known as graphic/artistic designer with Black Lodge Publishing.

Elaine has also been taught in several of the more modern magical traditions but professes that her heart belongs to nature, animals, and that of true justice. Her magical work inspired the book Casting Energies, which is now regarded as a go to work book on sigil & seals used for planetary magick. The book would also inspire her to create a series of altar cards specifically designed for practical use, along with a larger series of artwork based on the Zohar.

As a trained classicist, Elaine has travelled and photographed many exhibits and archaeological sites in the Mediterranean and this has led her over the years to make an in-depth study of the Bronze Age, Archaic, and Classical world’s presentation of the divine feminine. Elaine’s speciality is in securing a link between early iconographic representations of the goddess especially from the late Cycladic and Helladic cultures through to more recognisable literary presentations of the goddess as detailed in the Homeric, Hesiodic and later Classical literary traditions.

Elaine’s lecture presentation at the Welshpool Occult Conference 2024 was based on her most recent research: ‘In search of the Goddess’.

  • Sian Sibley

    AUTHOR

Sian Sibley is a practicing witch and has led a coven in South Wales called DragonOak for over thirty years. As well as teaching a form of traditional witchcraft, Sian also works very closely with the spirit of plants and trees as detailed in the works of Culpeper & Charubel.

In her book 'Unveiling the Green', Sian demonstrates how the realm of 'the green' can be accessed by unveiling its spiritual essence through the use of alchemy and astrology. The book also explains why our relationship with 'the green' is vital for our health, psychology, and more importantly our continued existence on the planet.

She elaborates on this in 'Black Paths & Green Cathedrals' to give a wonderful insight into her magical working with the trees and how they inform her as to their healing properties. Sian's scientific background - an MSc in Applied Biology - gives her a unique perspective on these practices, and the land of South Wales that she calls her home.

Sian Sibley's experience, background, and magical practice shines in her relationship with her wonderful 'green friends' which is therefore worth exploring and demands all of our attention.
